Past Tense Indeed

Recent survey would tell you as a normal citizen who wish to retire in a city with comfort you would need a huge amount of money. By simple math it will show most people simply cant reach that figure. Read yahoo's latest How to retire with a million dollars. It recommends "By age 55, your retirement portfolio should be at $400,000".

Let us assume you have 20 years to get the figure from scratch, $400,000 / (20x12) = $1666.66 pure savings a month, now I won't know if that number is a coincidence, but for a normal joe it is simply a piggy bank too far to reach. At any rate by the time you are really 55 (assuming 20++ years from now) one can really doubt if a million dollars will be enough for you to retire in style.

In short, 95% of the world's population can't really afford to retire.

That was an Extra blue Monday

The open secret is any one who is into soccer here is almost a English Premier league fan, the defeat of England VS Germany in 4-1 would certainly disappoint the legions of fans locally, resulting in an extra blue Monday in the following day.

Italy Stumbles, More than Soccer fans are hurt

Following France's digraceful exit here we have the Defending champion Italy going home early too. On the world front I am sure this cost untold billion dollars worth of damage to soccer gamblers across the globe. There is an old saying stating "the ball is round and roll where it pleases...", better not get entangled in the betting frenzy.

Vision 2020...or Bankrupt 2019? Why not Both?

Well we have this (Vision 2020) and we have this (Bankrupt 2020). The best part is apparently we can have both of them.

France Last Match World Cup 2010

Guess who are some of the France fans cheering in their last match in World Cup 2010? To have home fans cheering against you... is as low as a team can go in my opinion.

Oh.. that is Nasty

Speaking of medical issues, presuming you are rich enough to retire, you can end up like this old man if you throw away everything in pursuit of wealth. By Flickr user gipmetro.

High, high, high, low... what is low?

A common issue one presumed, oh not to mention the incoming high medical bills...

Becareful what You Wish For

It is Sunday evening and it feels like sauna in my room. There isn't suppose to be any BL strip for today so this is a bonus strip, in the light of that it is my belief there will be no complains on cheap comic plottings.

Few days back I read Bolehland's strip dedicated to this site, while it is hilarious I can't figure out why they wanted a "violent end" but... I realised I can fulfill their "aspiration". :D

The Eternal Riddle

Some one asked me this question a loooong time ago, either because of fate/luck/incompetence the loop is still going on... a dedication to the guys world wide who are stuck in the same trap.

Below is the dialog in its original form, seems like it was just yesterday.

God bless.

Bolehland on World Cup

In conjunction to the 2010 World Cup... and the sad state of our national football team. Last panel plot credited to Dan khoo from Bolehland.net.

Some Days it seem Progress is so Far Away

There are days when it really buggers you to read the news, on one hand you have the main stream media highlighting what we already know: salary people facing tough time; Then you take a look at the other side you see news like New palace costs RM811mil, no open tender on the same day! Makes you wonder about their slogan "people first"...

BP: Shortcut to Disaster

Another piece of news that made it to the world on the on going oil spill disaster is so cliche it reads like text book movie plot where corporate villains are hell bend to make a profit and regard everything else as secondary despite the fact they are already freaking rich.

Read the details on CNN.com: Rig survivors: BP ordered shortcut on day of blast.

Robin Hood: No face given to a True Monarch

SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't see the 2010 Robin Hood movie and wish to watch it without knowing part the ending stop reading this section. :)

This comic is about how at the end of the show... things got ridiculously out of hand, so much so soldiers don't give face to a King and instead they choose to cherish a nobody they rarely get the chance to know and didn't even contribute that lot in the final fighting scene. And remember, this is supposedly set in the time when an insult to the King can get yourself killed. Simply brilliant.

Malaysia could be Bankrupt in 9 Years

While millions of fellow Malaysians are running in circles knee deep in the middle-income trap, Minister Idris Jala breaks the news of Malaysia Going Bankrupt in 9 years. Nice, it would also mean for the average Joes and Janes no amount of hard savings can get you out of the trap.

A thought do comes to mind though... despite all the natural resources, petrol revenues and virtually big natural disaster free advantages for decades we are still in this mess; it does beg the question: Should we instead change the people who balance the ledger instead for a change?

Sales of Israeli Flag must be Up

Following the flotilla incident scenes of angry protesters burning Israeli flag is common through out the world. In fact I would hazard a guess myself by saying every time Israel screws up in some way sales of Israeli flag would be up world wide, for a flag can only be burned once.

U.N. Security Council meets on Israeli Raid

From CNN news dated first of June 2010: "Israel faced condemnation and questions Monday at an emergency U.N. Security Council meeting called by Turkey on the Israeli military's storming of a six-ship flotilla of pro-Palestinian activists headed to Gaza with aid supplies."

This is all the news rage at the moment... while both sides started the usual fingers pointing, boarding ships on international water in the wee hours of morning with guns blazing is simply going to make you look bad, no matter the reasons. Read more on CNN news.
