Some Days it seem Progress is so Far Away

There are days when it really buggers you to read the news, on one hand you have the main stream media highlighting what we already know: salary people facing tough time; Then you take a look at the other side you see news like New palace costs RM811mil, no open tender on the same day! Makes you wonder about their slogan "people first"...

Never Fully Trust a Bank or Their Agent

Yeah that happened to me lately. Any one else feels cheated technically by your bank lately? Uninvited credit card, authorized insurance products to name but a few from the stories I heard from friends and family had me at times wondering just how desperate or ruthless these people working in a bank can get.

Go Easy on the Taxes...

Well, this came in today. Apparently a US citizen with grudge against the IRS set his house on fire and then crashed a small plane into a building housing an IRS office. Read the CNN news here.

At bricklives here we make no attempt to hide our feelings towards the current ways of the world where the elites own all and the "honest-making-a-living" people suffer despite the hard work, but action such as this has really taking such expression to the extreme end.

You Own the Car, or the Car Owns You?

car owned
There was this chart which was published in a local paper portraying the causes of Malaysian bankruptcies. A staggering more then 50% was attributed to failure to pay car loan installments - that says something about the local situation.

Inadequate public transport systems coupled with very expensive cars forced a lot people to purchase cars which were out of their means. Now that the recession has hit, all hell broke loose.

Banking Self Mutilation

As mind boggling as it sounds it is reported a Bank Sues itself due to either erm, stupidity or technical reasons. It then proceed to hire 2 different law firms to sue and defend itself to avoid "comflict of interest". Bank split personality at its best? We can't help but feels something is seriously wrong about the case.

Price tag of $300 million and in use for 1 year, the warranty still valid?

Part of the roof of the RM300mil costing Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Gong collapsed yesterday just a year after it was opened.

Most will agree there are much better ways to spend RM300mil, heck, even just by handing them out might prove to benefit the country more. Good thing the say it is still under warranty but we will see.

Billions and billions of Government aid poured into the market. Yet the average Joe won't even feel a thing. But we've all been down that road before, haven't we? :)

Have you ever estimated....

Simple math + logic can make the most impact statement at times.
Seriously, how many standard trend the mill workers can achieve that?

It is for your own good... that we are giving this to outsiders

For whose sake? The never ending "managemental decision" on outsourcing "lesser quality jobs to foreigners" because "the pay is too low for the locals". Is this model sustainable in long term and are there no alternatives?

Ever wonder...?

Well they teach you lots of stuff in school, funny thing is some of the most important things in life which involve mega decisions are never the subject of education. Ever see a school giving classes on how to apply bank loans, figure out the exact interest charge, how to avoid the deceptive credit card financial traps?

No? Smell a fish? Exactly.
