Rally... Mother Approves!

Following the aftermath of 13th General election of my beloved country I found people around me from all walks of life who are usually "timid" getting up and showing up at rallies.

A new dawn has arrived and history has shown those who stood against the titanic wheel of time will get crushed and written off in bad light. What will the world's longest surviving coalition (Barisan Nasional) do in the next few years will be most interesting now that people is openly demanding a better and more transparent government.

Mum said I gotta be back by 12!

Royally Yellow

According to the news here, it is either Queen Elizabeth has a great sense of humour or this is a very low chance coincidence. What do you think people?

Not Exactly a Vote of Confidence

Despite the obvious drawback of having a nuclear power plant (i.e. look at Japan now), our own Bolehland head honchos seems set to go full steam ahead with nuclear plans.

Looking back we don't exactly have what you would call a glorious past record of maintenance nor construction. From submarines that don't dive (great inspection), a stadium that collapses by itself (great construction) and a parliament that is always leaking (fantastic construction and maintenance). We need to be excused of not exactly having faith in the "top side" of their "assurance", unless of course you fancy of always wearing this:

Common fashion in near future here?

Oh and here is the Bahasa version, special thanks to my good friend Mr. K for the basic translation in proper form.

Slogan VS Reality

Ever stuck in situation when you believe things should be much better? Shout out loud some political slogans and see the irony rings for eternity.

Again in Bahasa, many thanks to the individuals who oversee the hopefully, proper translation.

Defend from Who? At What Cost?

Just recently our dearest PM declared "We must defend Putrajaya at all cost" as a rallying cry for party members at the 61st Umno general assembly in a speech which hinted general election is around the corner.

Frankly, as a citizen of the nation personally I found his statements quite frankly inappropriate in multiple accounts. First, a defend stance would indicate one is under attack, a general election is hardly an "attack" or "war" to begin with. Second, the saying of "at all cost" would have most wondering how far will the current administration go to ensure a victory. What if the cost involves degradation of moral values or breach of conduct?

There is a general sense from the public point of view the current ruling regime has been in power for far too long and it seems half a century of ruling have since rendered a certain group of people to believe the rights in power to govern this country is a kind of "ownership" instead of "stewardship". That itself in my humble oppinion, is the first step towards down fall.

Madness? No Way!

If you happen to listen to the news of Bolehland lately, the latest biggest fuzz is on the government's announced project of a New mega skyscraper and this is because 'We need it because we can do it' despite Service tax upped to 6pc from next January "to generate additional tax revenue for national development".

Let us get this straight, first we need more money because obviously we are running short, then we build another big tower down town because... that will benefit us all? And our dear Prime Minister is confounded by pro-opposition civil servants.

Full steam ahead, dear captain of Titanic.

The Best of Free Promotion

Boo-Yeah! From the makers of Bolehland comes another self foot-shooting incident of helping discontent voices making their point. First we have Cartoonist Zunar arrested, new book seized,
and book launch a hit despite author's arrest.

The Results Speak for Itself

Following the saga of this and this we couldn't resist to do a bit of street research ourselves so we did the natural thing which any street geek would do: an online poll.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the vote! Oddly, the result althought just a tiny sampling in the backwater part of the web, is anything but the officially reported "majority of the public reacted positively to the price hike". The truth is out there some where...

But you didn't said we can't Report your Order

In the recent essential price hikes strangely missing are the word "price hike" on all major news papers titles, and here is the reason why. Kinda think of it, isn't that like the last panel in the comic when a man tells his son to reply on the phone but ended up looking worse?

1Nation... People erm no, Price First!

If you happen to live in Malaysia by now the shock wave of 5-in-1 price hike: Fuel, sugar and gas up should have hit you. Sometime one really wonders how do they make decisions...

Vision 2020...or Bankrupt 2019? Why not Both?

Well we have this (Vision 2020) and we have this (Bankrupt 2020). The best part is apparently we can have both of them.

Some Days it seem Progress is so Far Away

There are days when it really buggers you to read the news, on one hand you have the main stream media highlighting what we already know: salary people facing tough time; Then you take a look at the other side you see news like New palace costs RM811mil, no open tender on the same day! Makes you wonder about their slogan "people first"...

Najib's current Approval Rating triumps Obama's best

So the words in town is that our Prime Minister's current approval rating is at a staggering 72% high! That is higher then President Obama's best record. Read more in here.

Malaysia could be Bankrupt in 9 Years

While millions of fellow Malaysians are running in circles knee deep in the middle-income trap, Minister Idris Jala breaks the news of Malaysia Going Bankrupt in 9 years. Nice, it would also mean for the average Joes and Janes no amount of hard savings can get you out of the trap.

A thought do comes to mind though... despite all the natural resources, petrol revenues and virtually big natural disaster free advantages for decades we are still in this mess; it does beg the question: Should we instead change the people who balance the ledger instead for a change?

Can I bribe you with your own money?

A recent hot topic on the National Front (Barisan Nasional) - Can the Prime Minister openly bribe voters and get away with it? Apparently in Malaysia, anything is possible, as per the national mantra of Malaysia Boleh! (Malaysia Can!), set by the 4th Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir.

This Hand Shake can create 77 millionaires

Apparently our dearest ruling regime has done it again, in the time of multiple problems in all fronts it is revealed their PR contract with Apco cost RM77 mil a year. The seems like a staggering amount of money to look good. Yeah, looking good now aren't we?
