When is Your Birthday Again?

I have a friend whose birthday fell on an ... interesting date. Working in a field which gets to know a lot of people, jokes and youthful shenanigans can get out of hand when it comes to his annual celebration of surviving another trip rotating around the sun. Being a guy who likes to maintain his image of a dude who is made of sterner stuff, he blunders some strong words on social media. As a friend one can only oblige.

Poor Man's air con since the beginning

The hot evening or afternoon when one opens the fridge door and in a small instance... experience the pure joy of cool air relieve. Be warned though prolong period of open fridge door is bad news for the food inside. Credit of the fridge design goes to the talented flickr user nolnet.

Again in Bahasa, always loved short and sweet comic strips, so easy to translate and keep to the spirit.

I Used to be Active in Blogging, then I took an arrow to the knee

Hi folks, those of you who followed my blog will undoubted noticed lately I went completely offline. Well, a few months ago I was doing the usual midnight surfing and was hit by an excruciating headache. I went to bed and next thing when I woke up, half my body was numb...in a way, getting an arrow to the knee might have been a better deal.

I have since got better, but not witthout some side effects. After some deliberation, I finally came back to blog my beloved brickworld, for life must go on, and so is the chronicling of our stories.

Slogan VS Reality

Ever stuck in situation when you believe things should be much better? Shout out loud some political slogans and see the irony rings for eternity.

Again in Bahasa, many thanks to the individuals who oversee the hopefully, proper translation.

By the way should you be asking what is the Bricklink site all about, well all I can say is it is quite possible this blog would have not existed without it. That was No Way to call a Lady

From our reader who blog in "A Malaysian Girl's Search for Herself" come another hilarious story where she received a call from a stranger. Her original story can be read in "Hello? Hello?".

We are also announcing the decision to use stories from our readers on random from time to time and making them into comic strips. The condition for this to happen is very simple, it is either you are a registered follower or have contributed linkage to our site and you have a blog of your own with materials which we think is suitable for our content. When a comic is made we will always try to link it back up to your original posting.

Rest Well, Buddy

The process of making a com ready to retire is always like a time trip to the past as you browse through all the files and it was like "oh man! These stuff is like from another life time..." when it was actually just 4 years ago. But then year 2006 definitely sounds like another age now.

You also get to realise a lot of stuff which you thought were important is actually junk in the long run, but ironically a lot of other stuff which you might have thought to be junk are now cherished memories.

Past Tense Indeed

Recent survey would tell you as a normal citizen who wish to retire in a city with comfort you would need a huge amount of money. By simple math it will show most people simply cant reach that figure. Read yahoo's latest How to retire with a million dollars. It recommends "By age 55, your retirement portfolio should be at $400,000".

Let us assume you have 20 years to get the figure from scratch, $400,000 / (20x12) = $1666.66 pure savings a month, now I won't know if that number is a coincidence, but for a normal joe it is simply a piggy bank too far to reach. At any rate by the time you are really 55 (assuming 20++ years from now) one can really doubt if a million dollars will be enough for you to retire in style.

In short, 95% of the world's population can't really afford to retire.
